JOINT SEALANTS <br />Section 07900 <br />15-1207 <br />b. Single Component Silicone: Dow Corning 795, Dow Corning 995 or approved <br />equal. <br />C. Joint Movement Capabilities: 50 percent extension and 50 percent compression <br />in accordance with ASTM C719. <br />d. Color: color as selected by Architect. <br />4. Joints and Cracks Receiving Paint or Adhesives Over Sealant: <br />a. Reference Standard: ASTM C920, Grade NS, Class 25 Use NT, G, A, and O. <br />b. Single Component Sealant: Dow Corning 756 SMS or approved equal. <br />C. Joint Movement Capabilities: Silicones -Minimum 50 percent extensions and 50 <br />percent compression in accordance with ASTM C719. Polyurethanes -Minimum <br />100 percent expansion and 50 percent compression in accordance with ASTM <br />C719. <br />d. Verify sealant compatibility with painting system. <br />e. Color: color as selected by Architect. <br />D. Acoustical Sealant: Non -sag, butyl or latex based sealant designed and tested to be used <br />for sound control. Pecora Corp. "AIS -919", Tremco "Acoustical Sealant" or equal. For use <br />to seal between sill plate and subfloor and also voids and cracks in sound rated wall <br />systems. <br />2.02 MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS <br />A. Backer Rod: Kool-Rod, closed cell, polyethylene foam backer rod for cold -applied sealants <br />as manufactured by W.R. Meadows, Sof Rod as manufactured by C.R. Laurence Co. or <br />approved equal. <br />B. Bond Breaker Tape: CRL Bond Breaker Tape as manufactured by C.R. Laurence Co. or <br />approved equal. Clear plastic tape with clear polyethylene adhesive backing with high <br />adhesion to steel and other metals. Use as directed by the manufacturer of the sealant <br />being installed to insure proper configuration of the sealant. <br />C. Sealant Accessories: Provide cleaners, thinners and primers as recommended by the <br />sealant manufacturer. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />A. Prior to installation of the work of this Section, carefully inspect and verify that installed work <br />of all other trades is complete to the point where this installation may properly commence. <br />B. Verify that specified items may be installed in accordance with the approved design. <br />C. In event of discrepancy, immediately notify Architect. Do not proceed in discrepant areas <br />until discrepancies have been fully resolved. <br />D. Do not proceed with installation of sealant if joint width does not match design details. In the <br />event of such a discovery, contact the Architect for direction. <br />4 <br />
