ENTRANCES & STOREFRONTS <br />Section 08410 <br />15-1207 <br />B. Products <br />1. Kawneer Aluminum Storefront Systems, Series: Trifab VG 451 Framing System. <br />Framing Member Profile: 2" x 4-1/2" nominal dimension; Center Glazed, Screw Spline <br />Fabrication. <br />2. Entrances: Kawneer Aluminum Entrances Series 500 (wide stile, 5"). <br />2.03 MATERIALS <br />A. Aluminum (Framing and Components): <br />1. Material Standard: ASTM B 221; 6063-T6 alloy and temper <br />2. Member Wall Thickness: Each framing member shall provide structural strength to meet <br />specified performance requirements. <br />3. Tolerances: Reference to tolerances for wall thickness and other cross-sectional <br />dimensions of storefront members are nominal and in compliance with AA Aluminum <br />Standards and Data. <br />B. Entrances <br />1. Material Standard: ASTM B 221; 6063-T5 alloy and temper. <br />2. The door stile and rail face dimensions of the 500 entrance door will be as follows: <br />Door Vertical Stile Top Rail Bottom Rail <br />500 5" 5" 12" <br />3. Major portions of the door members to be 0.125" nominal in thickness and glazing <br />molding to be 0.05" thick. <br />4. Tolerances: Reference to tolerances for wall thickness and other cross-sectional <br />dimensions of entrance members are nominal and in compliance with Aluminum <br />Standards and Data, published by The Aluminum Association. <br />2.04 FABRICATION <br />A. General: <br />1. Fabricate components per manufacturer's installation instructions and with minimum <br />clearances and shim spacing around perimeter of assembly, yet enabling installation and <br />dynamic movement of perimeter seal. <br />2. Accurately fit and secure joints and corners. Make joints flush, hairline and weatherproof. <br />3. Prepare components to receive anchor devices. Fabricate anchors. <br />4. Arrange fasteners and attachments to conceal from view. <br />B. Entrance System: <br />1. Door corner construction shall consist of mechanical clip fastening, SIGMA doop <br />penetration plug welds and 1-1/8" long fillet welds inside and outside of all four corners. <br />Glazing stops shall be hook -in type with EPDM glazing gaskets reinforced with non - <br />stretchable cord. <br />2. Accurately fit and secure joints and corners. Make joints hairline in appearance. <br />3. Prepare components with internal reinforcement for door hardware. <br />4. Arrange fasteners and attachments to conceal from view. <br />4 <br />
