SKYLIGHTS & LIGHT <br />CONTROL LOUVERS <br />Section 08621 <br />15-1207 <br />As a standard of construction and operation, skylights shall be equivalent to Sunoptics <br />Model 800MD (tested per report ESR -3557), double hip shape, and integral light control <br />louvers; Sunoptics Light Control Module as manufactured by Sunoptics Prismatic <br />Skylights, 6350 27th Street, Sacramento, CA 95822, (916) 395-4700, with the following <br />characteristics: <br />a. Skylights shall be assembled and glazed ready for installation. <br />b. Skylight frames shall be fabricated with ASTM B221 6063-T5 aluminum extrusions. <br />Skylight frame finish is to be mill, have an insulated thermally broken frame, and <br />shall have integral condensate and weepage gutters which drain interior to the <br />outside. Mount to curb with tamper resistant screws. <br />C. Weather Sweep: provided manufacturer's weather sweep attached to skylight <br />frame. <br />d. Skylights shall be glazed with a SR60 clear prismatic acrylic outer lens, and SR25 <br />white prismatic acrylic inner lenses. The visible light transmittance to be 0.68, with <br />a shading heat gain coefficient of 0.42, and a maximum U -Value of 0.74. Acrylic <br />glazing to be CC -2 rated. <br />e. The overall skylight efficacy, exclusive of the well loss and louvers, shall be 1.1. <br />f. Safety Security Guard: Manufacturer's 3/16" wire mesh at 4" o.c. in each direction. <br />Provide at all skylights. <br />g. Curb: Manufacturer's fabricated curb, Model ARC -3, double wall 18 gauge <br />galvanized steel, with 1 Y2" fiberglass insulation and 2 x 2 pressure treated wood <br />nailer for mounting skylight. <br />h. Exterior drip/counter flashing, and drainage ports shall be protected from weather <br />and air -borne debris. All corners of curb and retaining frames shall be mitered and <br />full penetration welded. Curb frame shall be predrilled for anchorage to roof <br />framing. All mechanical fasteners shall be either aluminum alloy 2024-T4, Type <br />302 non-magnetic stainless steel or plated steel. <br />2.02 LIGHT CONTROL LOUVERS <br />A. Light Control Louvers shall be Sunoptics Model 900 motorized as manufactured by Sunoptics <br />Skylights, 6350 27th Street, Sacramento, CA 95822, (916) 395-4700. <br />B. Louvers shall be factory assembled, ready for installation. <br />C. Louver frame and blades shall be fabricated from 6063-T5 aluminum, finish to be baked on <br />enamel, white in color. <br />D. Louver frames shall be mechanically joined at the corners. Blades shall be 6 in. on center, <br />rotating on a 5/8 in. rigid PVC bearing. Aluminum end plates shall be fastened to the ends of <br />each blade and act as thrust caps against the PVC bearing. End plates shall be attached to <br />an aluminum bar on one side for gang operation. <br />E. Louvers shall be electrically operated using Sunoptics standard synchronous 115VAC motor <br />unit. The motor unit shall be integral to the louver assembly and shall be equipped with limit <br />switches at full open and closed positions. <br />1. Louvers shall also utilize photo -cell control to limit daylight levels to desired set point. <br />Provide the following components as manufactured by Sensor Switch, Inc., supplied by <br />CJS Lighting (916) 787-6632, or accepted equal: <br />n <br />
