Pins shall be stainless steel, shall have continuous groove for seating of NRP Screws and <br />shall have springloaded ball to prevent rising. <br />G. Hinge (butt) type shall be as scheduled. <br />H. Exterior hinges shall be nonferrous. <br />Interior rated hinges shall be steel. <br />2.06 CLOSERS <br />A. Key valve type. Furnish one key for each 5 closers. Fasten with 4 -sex bolts per closer. <br />Provide 180 degree opening unless indicated otherwise. Provide parallel arms with jamb <br />attachment for all out -swinging doors. Provide correct brackets at flush transom panel doors. <br />Fire -rated doors to have the minimum opening force allowable by the appropriate <br />administrative authority, not to exceed 15 lbs. The operating force shall not exceed 5 lbs at <br />all other doors. Closer shall be adjusted such that delay time complies with CBC Section <br />11 B-404.2.8. <br />2.07 SCREWS, BOLTS, AND FASTENING DEVICES <br />A. Exposed heads oval Phillips type in countersunk holes, unless other wise specified or <br />required. Use screws, bolts, washers, grommets, nuts, and other fastening devices of <br />appropriate length, type, head, metal and finish, as necessary for proper match and <br />application of hardware. <br />B. Threshold anchors shall be Flat Sleeve Anchors, FHSL 25 1/4 - 20 2" cadmium plated <br />expansion anchor screw in one unit. Fasten in countersunk holes 2-1/2" at pre -drilled holes <br />or 9" on center maximum spacing and within 3" of each end. Minimum 3 anchors per <br />threshold. <br />2.08 EXIT DOOR LATCHING DEVICES <br />A. All exit door latching devices shall be self -releasing type operable from inside at all times by <br />simply turning lever or by pressure on panic device. <br />2.09 FIRE RATED DOORS <br />A. Equip fire rated doors with UL listed hardware meeting requirements of 1999 NFP 80. Treat <br />and equip twenty minute rated openings same as 45 minute rated doors. <br />B. Exit Door Hardware: Where emergency exit devices are required on fire -rated doors, provide <br />UL or WHI label on exit devices indicating "Fire Exit Hardware". Exit doors in buildings, <br />including but not limited to door of toilet and storage rooms, shall conform with the <br />requirements of California Building Code, current edition, Section 716. All exit doors shall be <br />openable from the inside with "non -grasping" operable trim that does not require the use of a <br />key or any special knowledge. <br />C. Install closing (self-closing) device on every fire door bearing Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc. <br />label. <br />10 <br />
