Curing Observation: The plaster system applicator is responsible for the proper curing of the <br />plaster system as described and required by these specifications. The applicator is <br />required to keep a log, which accurately documents the intervals (by time of day and <br />date) that the plaster system is moistened with water spray. The log shall be made <br />available to the Project Inspector and verified on a daily basis. The scratch and brown <br />coat must be kept moist for the minimum period of times between coats as described <br />in Part 3 of this specification. Confirm level of hydration using the Moh's Hardness Test. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Backing Paper: <br />1. First Layer: Tyvek CommercialWrap D, tested in accordance with NFPA 285, as <br />manufactured by DuPont, or accepted equal. <br />2. Second Layer: Tyvek Homewrap, with surface burning characteristics of flame spread <br />less than 25 and Smoke Developed less than 450, as manufactured by DuPont, or <br />accepted equal. <br />B. Backing Paper Tape: DuPont Tyvek Tape (for Tyvek CommercialWrap D only), 3" wide or <br />accepted equal. <br />C. Flashing Panels: Quickflash Weatherproofing Flashing Panels as manufactured by <br />Quickflash Weatherproofing Products, Inc. (702) 614-6100, www.quickflashproducts.com. <br />Use at all exterior electrical box and plumbing pipe wall penetrations. <br />D. Flashing Membrane: 9 -inch, StraightFlash (30 -mil for straight flashing runs) or FlexWrap NF <br />(64 -mil for sills and curved flashing runs), butyl rubber, self-adhesive flashing as <br />manufactured by Dupont. Use in conjunction with manufacturer's recommended primer when <br />applying over CMU or concrete surfaces. Provide Flashing Membrane at all exterior, flanged <br />penetrations such as vents and flues. Use at other locations where indicated in drawings <br />(See drawings and specification sections 08100 and 08520 for flashing around exterior <br />windows and doors). <br />E. Flashing Sealant: "Sikaflex" 1 a, polyurethane sealant, or accepted equal approved by the <br />manufacture of the backing paper. Use at all exterior, flanged penetrations such as vents <br />and flues. Use at other locations where indicated in drawings (See drawings and <br />specification sections 08100 and 08520 for flashing around exterior windows and doors). <br />F. Lath types, weights, attachments and support spacings: Conform to Title 24, CCR, Part 2, <br />Tables 25A -B and 25A -C, except as otherwise specified herein. Casing beads, corner <br />beads, screeds and other lathing accessories over wood or metal framed walls and soffits <br />shall provide for a 3/4 -inch plaster system thickness on exterior soffits and a 7/8 -inch plaster <br />system thickness on exterior walls. Accessories used for plaster over CMU walls shall <br />provide for a 7/8 -inch plaster system thickness. <br />Lath for exterior wood framing; <br />a. Welded Wire Lath: "Structalath Twin Trac", %" self -furring, 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 17 ga. <br />galvanized steel welded wire lath as manufacture by Structa Wire Corp., or <br />»1 <br />
