CERAMIC TILE <br />Section 09300 <br />15-1207 <br />accordance with ANSI Al 08.02, sections 2.0, 2. 1, & 2.2, and all related sub -sections. <br />C. Transport, store and handle in strict accordance with the manufacturer's written <br />recommendations. <br />D. Make delivery to job when notified by Contractor verifying that the job is ready to receive the <br />work of this Section and that arrangements have been made to properly store, handle and <br />protect such materials and work. <br />1.09 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br />A. While installing products, protect adjacent surfaces against damage and stains. Set and <br />grout tile when ambient temperatures are in compliance with the recommendations of <br />manufacturers for bonding and grouting materials. <br />B. Environmental Requirements: <br />1. Maintain temperatures of not less than 50 degrees F, and not more than 90 degrees F, <br />in all areas where tile work is in progress and until mortar and grout have completely <br />cured. <br />2. Protect the work in progress and during curing from rapid evaporation of moisture from <br />mortar and grout. <br />C. Close area in which tile is being set to traffic. Keep closed until tile is firmly set and grout is <br />cured. Refer to setting materials manufacturers printed data sheets for mortar and grout cure <br />rates. <br />D. Shade the work area from direct sunlight during the installation as needed to prevent rapid <br />evaporation caused by excessive heat. <br />E. Observe the manufacturer's recommended safety precautions, including those pertaining to <br />ventilation. <br />F. Illuminate the work area during installation, providing the same level and angle of illumination <br />as will be available for final inspection. <br />1.10 QUALIFICATIONS <br />A. Qualifications of Installers: Use only thoroughly trained and experienced journeyman tile <br />setters completely familiar with the requirements of this work and the recommendations <br />contained in the referenced standards. No allowance will be made for lack of skill on the part <br />of tile setters in acceptance or rejection of installed the and related products. <br />1.11 EXTRA STOCK <br />A. Upon completion of the work of this Section, deliver to the Owner additional the and trim <br />shapes of each type, color, pattern, and size used in the Work, for the Owner's use in <br />replacement and maintenance, at the rate of 3% of the amount used in the Work. Package <br />materials securely to prevent damage, and clearly label all packages. <br />3 <br />
