CARPETING <br />Section 09680 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 INCLUSION OF OTHER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br />A. The General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 are fully applicable to this <br />Section, as if repeated herein. <br />1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE <br />A. Section 01350, Environmental Requirements. <br />B. Section 03300, Cast -In -Place Concrete, for concrete finishing. <br />C. Section 08710, Finish Hardware, for thresholds at doors. <br />D. Section 09650, Resilient Flooring, for base and edge trim. <br />E. Division 15, Electrical for floor trim rings. <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Use only new materials and products, unless existing materials or products are specifically <br />shown otherwise on the Drawings to be salvaged and re -used. <br />B. Use materials and products of one manufacturer whenever possible. <br />C. All materials, workmanship and installation are to be observed by the Owner's Inspector of <br />Record. Work not so inspected is subject to uncovering and replacement. <br />D. Tests: When Architect determines that testing of carpet is necessary to determine <br />compliance with Contract Documents, samples shall be taken from job site materials and <br />analyzed by a qualified, independent testing laboratory selected by the Owner. Contractor will <br />be back -charged for tests identifying non -complying products. <br />E. Carpet manufacturer shall have been manufacturing commercial/contract carpeting <br />continuously for a period of 25 years. <br />F. Carpet installation must be done by installers with a minimum of five (5) years experience in <br />the installation of commercial carpeting. It is recommended that the installers should be a <br />member of FCICA or certified by CFI. <br />G. Flooring contractor to be certified by carpet manufacturer. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Refer to Section 01300. <br />B. Manufacturer's Data: Submit list and complete descriptive data of all products proposed for <br />use. Include manufacturer's specifications, published warranty or guarantee, installation <br />instructions, and maintenance instructions. <br />C. Samples: The following samples are required. Submit per Section 01300. <br />
