PAINTING <br />Section 09900 <br />15-1207 <br />directly applied to the building (interior and exterior) for final color approval by <br />the Architect. Provide up to 2- schemes at no extra cost to the Owner. Paint shall <br />not be ordered or applied until such large scale sample(s) have been reviewed <br />and approved by Architect in writing. These requirements as described herein <br />may be waived by the Architect in writing only. <br />E. Submit executed Guarantee of Contractor/Subcontractor per Article 1.06. <br />1.06 GUARANTEE <br />A. Refer to General Conditions and Section 01300. <br />B. Submit fully executed Guarantee with submittal package required by Article 1.05. <br />C. Guarantee that paint colors shall be substantially unchanged and finishes shall maintain their <br />original adherence without showing blisters, flaking, peeling, scaling, staining or unusual <br />deterioration or other defects. <br />1.07 REFERENCES AND STANDARDS <br />A. California Green Building Standards Code, current edition, as adopted by the California <br />Division of the State Architect (DSA). <br />1.08 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING <br />A. Deliver undamaged products to job in manufacturer's sealed containers and/or original <br />bundles with tags and labels intact. <br />B. Store materials in protected, dry conditions off of ground and in areas which will not interfere <br />with the progress of the work. <br />C. Transport, store and handle in strict accord with the manufacturer's written recommendations <br />and as specified below. <br />D. Make delivery to job when notified by Contractor verifying that the job is ready to receive the <br />work of this Section and that arrangements have been made to properly store, handle and <br />protect such materials and work. <br />E. Take precautions to prevent fire. Remove paint -soiled rags and waste from premises at end <br />of each day's work or store in metal containers with metal covers. <br />F. Store paint at site in separate structure not less than 60 feet from any other building or <br />structure. Remove empty containers and soiled rags as they accumulate. At completion, <br />remove structure, cleanup area, and leave in original condition. <br />G. Mixing and tinting: Do no tinting of finish coats at job site, unless otherwise approved by <br />Architect. Do not reduce or change materials except as directed, or recommended by <br />manufacturer. <br />1.09 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br />A. No painting or finishing shall be done under conditions which jeopardize quality or appearance <br />3 <br />
