WALL COVERINGS Section 09950 15-1207 oz. per linear yard, 54 wide, 27 Mils, vinyl fabric meeting the requirements of WA -W-101, Type II; Class A Rating (0-25) in accordance with NFPA 255 (UL723); Flame Spread, Smoke Developed, and Flashover in accordance with NFPA 286; U.L. rated and labeled. Mildew inhibitorized. Colors selected by Architect from Manufacturer's standard range. Microvented coverings shall be used on all exterior walls unless specifically noted otherwise. Any substitution to be considered must be similar in texture and pattern, provide similar color options, and meet physical characteristics of specified material. C. Accent: Allow for 15% accent color of same material to be located as directed by Architect. D. Primer: Per Section 09900, Painting. Do not begin installation of wall covering until surfaces to receive wall covering have been correctly prepared and primed by Painting Contractor. E. Adhesive: Manufacturer's recommended adhesive containing mildew inhibitors. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 INSPECTION A. Examine all surfaces to be covered and report any unacceptable surface to Contractor. Unacceptable surfaces will be made acceptable by General Contractor before any material is applied. Beginning of wall application will constitute acceptance of surface. B. Prior to installation of the work of this Section, carefully inspect and verify that installed work of all other trades is complete to the point where this installation may properly commence. C. Verify that specified items may be installed in accordance with the approved design. D. In event of discrepancy, immediately notify Architect. Do not proceed in discrepant areas until discrepancies have been fully resolved. 3.02 APPLICATION A. Workmanship: Wall covering shall be installed in strict accordance with the manufacturer's printed instructions using vinyl wall covering adhesive recommended by the manufacturer (Wheat paste shall not be used). Final product shall be secure and clean with all air bubbles eliminated and in good contact with under surface and without gaps or overlaps. B. Fill all pin holes, cracks and other surface imperfections with spackle and sand smooth. Scrape off all pimples to leave surface smooth and free of imperfections, defects and debris prior to application of wall covering. C. Primer: All surfaces on which wall covering materials are to be applied, shall be primed with primer as specified in Section 09900 prior to installation. D. Before cutting, examine pattern and color and determine that they are the correct pattern and color as specified. E. Materials shall be cut using straight edge so that all seams will butt without gaps and will form straight plumb lines. Closely and neatly butt all seams; do not overlap.
