WALL COVERINGS <br />Section 09950 <br />15-1207 <br />oz. per linear yard, 54 wide, 27 Mils, vinyl fabric meeting the requirements of WA -W-101, <br />Type II; Class A Rating (0-25) in accordance with NFPA 255 (UL723); Flame Spread, Smoke <br />Developed, and Flashover in accordance with NFPA 286; U.L. rated and labeled. Mildew <br />inhibitorized. Colors selected by Architect from Manufacturer's standard range. Microvented <br />coverings shall be used on all exterior walls unless specifically noted otherwise. Any <br />substitution to be considered must be similar in texture and pattern, provide similar color <br />options, and meet physical characteristics of specified material. <br />C. Accent: Allow for 15% accent color of same material to be located as directed by Architect. <br />D. Primer: Per Section 09900, Painting. Do not begin installation of wall covering until surfaces <br />to receive wall covering have been correctly prepared and primed by Painting Contractor. <br />E. Adhesive: Manufacturer's recommended adhesive containing mildew inhibitors. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />A. Examine all surfaces to be covered and report any unacceptable surface to Contractor. <br />Unacceptable surfaces will be made acceptable by General Contractor before any material is <br />applied. Beginning of wall application will constitute acceptance of surface. <br />B. Prior to installation of the work of this Section, carefully inspect and verify that installed work <br />of all other trades is complete to the point where this installation may properly commence. <br />C. Verify that specified items may be installed in accordance with the approved design. <br />D. In event of discrepancy, immediately notify Architect. Do not proceed in discrepant areas <br />until discrepancies have been fully resolved. <br />3.02 APPLICATION <br />A. Workmanship: Wall covering shall be installed in strict accordance with the manufacturer's <br />printed instructions using vinyl wall covering adhesive recommended by the manufacturer <br />(Wheat paste shall not be used). Final product shall be secure and clean with all air bubbles <br />eliminated and in good contact with under surface and without gaps or overlaps. <br />B. Fill all pin holes, cracks and other surface imperfections with spackle and sand smooth. <br />Scrape off all pimples to leave surface smooth and free of imperfections, defects and debris <br />prior to application of wall covering. <br />C. Primer: All surfaces on which wall covering materials are to be applied, shall be primed with <br />primer as specified in Section 09900 prior to installation. <br />D. Before cutting, examine pattern and color and determine that they are the correct pattern and <br />color as specified. <br />E. Materials shall be cut using straight edge so that all seams will butt without gaps and will form <br />straight plumb lines. Closely and neatly butt all seams; do not overlap.
