PREFINISHED PLASTIC <br />LAMINATE CASEWORK <br />Section 12304 <br />15-1207 <br />with fastener opening diameter in countertop brace. Fastener length shall provide 1 Y2" <br />minimum embedment into wood blocking, concrete, CMU or metal backing plate. <br />Fasteners shall be hex -head lag bolt at wood construction, expansion anchor at <br />concrete or CMU construction or sheet metal screw at metal backing plate for steel <br />stud construction. <br />F. Scribes and Filler Panels: Provide matching scribes and filler panels, and scribe all cabinets <br />to abutting walls, partitions and ceilings. Scribes shall not exceed 1-1/2 inches wide. Scribe <br />to be covered top and bottom. <br />G. Provide %" plywood block screwed and glued to underside of countertops for installation and <br />attachment of any accessories or hardware (ie. CPU Holder) designed to be mounted to <br />underside of countertops. Verify required size and location of plywood blocking. <br />3.02 COORDINATION WITH APPLIANCES <br />A. Casework manufacturer shall review all locations where appliances are to be installed and <br />coordinate dimensions to ensure the correct size openings are provided. Shop drawings <br />shall clearly indicate locations and opening dimensions. Where appliances are not in <br />contract, shop drawings shall request confirmation of critical dimensions. <br />B. Adjustments that need to be made to the casework due to appliances not fitting correctly are <br />to be done at no additional cost to the project. <br />3.03 INSPECTION <br />A. Prior to all work of this Section, carefully inspect and verify that the installed work of all other <br />trades is complete to the point where this work may properly commence. <br />B. Verify that specified items may be installed in accordance with the approved design. <br />C. In the event of discrepancy, immediately notify the Architect. Do not proceed in discrepant <br />areas until discrepancies have been fully resolved. <br />3.04 PREPARATION <br />A. Take all necessary measurements in the field to ensure proper dimensions for cabinets and <br />countertops prior to fabrication. <br />B. Coordinate work under this Section with other trades whose work adjoins, combines, or aligns <br />with same. <br />3.05 INSTALLATION <br />A. Install all work in conformance with Woodwork Institute / Architectural Woodworking <br />Standards, latest edition. <br />B. Supervision: Installation work shall be under direct supervision of representative of <br />manufacturer of the casework. <br />C. Set work level, square and in true alignment.
