Noise levels of on site equipment are controlled by proper <br />maintenance of mufflers to factory specifications. ~Jo i se levels have not been a problem at the <br />site, based on the absence of formal complaints . <br />Due to the vehicular volume with the waste quantity limits, Forward will continue to schedule <br />deliveries of residual waste to the landfill will be scheduled as regularly as possible to minimize <br />queuing and idling. In addition, the truck drivers will be encouraged to minimize their idling <br />time. <br />Noise levels are not likely to create health hazards to persons using the site due to the use of <br />mufflers on heavy equipment. Protective ear wear is provided to all employees. Due to the <br />remote location of the site, noise levels are not likely to create health hazards to nearby <br />residents. <br />3.2.5 Nuisance Control (14 CCR. Section 17408.5) <br />In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17 408.5 ~ the station is operated so as to not create a <br />public nuisance, health or safety problem. As indioated from the resu lts of numerous facility <br />i nspections conducted by the LEA and GIWMB it ean be consluded that this station has not <br />been a nuisance . All station personnel are trained to eliminate any aesthetic nuisance that <br />may be created from daily operations. Operations are performed to prevent nuisances such <br />as vector, bird and animal control; odor control; noise control; dust control; litter control; and <br />traffic control as discussed in this TPR. Any complaints received from surrounding <br />properties wil l be investigated and appropriate steps will be taken to remediate the <br />nuisance. <br />3.2.6 Protection of Users (14 CCR. Section 17408.8) <br />In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17408.8, the station is operated in such a manner so <br />as to minimize contact between users~ aAG-wastes . and transfer operations. The RRF is not <br />open to the public. The equipment operator and general laborers oversee the unloading of all <br />incoming loads in such a way as to reduce potentially dangerous situations from occurring. <br />Visitors to the site are required to park in a designated parking areas to avoid circulation <br />conflict with facility traffic . operations and other facility vehicles or equipment. Signs <br />speci fyi ng rules of the facility. which protect users of the facility are discussed in Section 3.3 .3 . <br />In the wood el=Hpf3grind ing area, the customers are constantly supervised, as are all customers. <br />Personal safety equipment is provided to all personnel. First aid kits and eye wash kits are <br />available at the facility. Fire extinguishers are strategically located in the facility. The <br />firefighting equipment is discussed in Section 3.3.6.
