1 <br /> lb. Standby equipment is available through local rental <br /> yards and local equipment dealers. Additionally, one (1) <br /> 2500 gallon water truck is available onsite on a standby <br /> basis for fire fighting and dust control. Various other <br /> items of equipment are available onsite and are used as <br /> necessary such as a welder, a compressor and various tools. <br /> ld. The following equipment is used on a daily basis : <br /> 1 - D8 tractor with dozer <br /> 1 - D8 tractor with 18 yard scraper <br /> 1 - Pactor trashmaster with dozer <br /> 1 - HD 24 tractor with dozer <br /> le. The onsite sanitary facilities for employees includes a <br /> restroom for both men and women with running water which <br /> comes from a well on the premises which is approved for <br /> domestic use. The well is 440 feet deep with a twelve inch <br /> (1211) 10-gauge casing and a 30 hp pump. <br /> lf. Climatic conditions at the site are mild with a median <br /> daily temperature of approximately 60 . 7°F and a median <br /> rainfall of approximately 14 .17 inches. <br /> lg. A paved county road leads to the site and a graveled <br /> access road to the dumping area is maintained through the <br /> winter and provides access to the dumping area on a daily <br /> basis regardless of weather conditions. During extremely <br /> wet periods, cover material is taken from stockpiles or the <br /> higher portions of the rolling hills thereby alleviating the <br /> necessity to work in areas that are muddy. Additionally, a <br /> winter dumping pad is prepared to allow easy dumping during <br /> extreme weather conditions. <br /> lh. Control measures: <br /> The remoteness of the site minimizes the impact on <br /> those in the general vicinity. Adequate mufflers are maintained <br /> on all equipment to provide proper noise control for employees <br /> and those utilizing the site for dumping purposes. Odors <br /> are controlled by refuse compaction and cover. Litter from <br /> time to time must be picked up along the roadways and from <br /> adjoining premises and fence lines when unusual wind conditions <br /> occur or those traveling to the site are careless. In the <br /> past fences have been used to reduce the amount of litter <br /> leaving the immediate dumping location. Dust is controlled <br /> by water application either by water truck or sprinkling <br /> from the existing pressure system. Insect populations are <br /> controlled through compaction and cover. (If necessary, <br /> insecticides will be used. ) Rodents have not been a problem <br /> and will if necessary be controlled by use of approved <br /> poisons. Fire is controlled first by inspection of incoming <br /> loads, second the refuse is compacted and covered, third <br /> pursuant to Forest Service requirements cells are to be <br /> used to confine the refuse material, fourth, a pressure <br /> -2- <br />
