Assuming that the population of
the proposed subdivision will be
the same as existed for census
tract 34 (Morada) in 1975 .85
pupils per household would be
generated (1278 pupils/1499 heads
of households) of 62 pupils
(.853 X 73) . This impact will
occur at about the same rate as the
subdivision is constructed.
Due to the rapid growth of the
residential areas northward from
the City of Stockton, the Lodi
School District has experienced
an explosion in the number of
pupils it must serve. This in
turn has created a great demand
for additional capital to provide
necessary educational facilities.
At present local school facilities
operate at capacity. The school
district policy is to bus addi-
tional students to schools with
capacity in the north part of the
district. This creates a burden
on both district and pupil.
' c. Road Maintenance
This project will create about 2
miles of additional road to be
maintained by the County. This
will be new roads and should not
create a significant impact.
10. Water Supply:
Individual wells are proposed as the method
of water supply, as noted in the "Description
of the Project" . The well field which the
project will create will draw on underground
water, increasing groundwater overdraft. As
there is no alternative source of water
available in the Morada area, any development
will increase groundwater overdraft. A
community water system that is a public well
or wells and a distribution system would also
• draw on underground water, but would have some
advantages over individual systems.
-17-
