1.0 GENERAL <br /> 1.1 PURPOSE <br /> The purpose of this work plan is to present the procedures for the <br /> installation of a replacement Landfill Gas (LFG) extraction well (GX-2A) at <br /> Foothill Sanitary Landfill (FHSL). <br /> The new LFG well will replace the existing LFG well GX-2. The existing <br /> well GX-2 will not be destroyed but will just be disconnected from the sites <br /> LFG system. The installation of the new extraction well will re-activate LFG <br /> collection in area. <br /> Work will be done in accordance with this work plan and per the project's <br /> construction drawings and specifications <br /> 1.2 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> FHSL is located in eastern San Joaquin County at 6484 N. Waverly Road, <br /> four miles east of Linden, CA. The landfill is a single Class III Waste <br /> Management Unit on an 800-acre parcel. This Unit is comprised of Module <br /> "I", Module 1, and future modules. Future modules will overlap onto other <br /> completed modules, including Module "I" until final closure of the Unit. <br /> Waste discharged to the landfill includes commercial and household waste, <br /> construction/demolition waste, and agricultural waste. <br /> 1.3 WELL LOCATION <br /> The new LFG extraction wells will be installed on the south east side of <br /> Module "I" in the vicinity of the existing LFG well GX-2 (Figure A).
