ci <br />L�' <br />C Drilling equipment shall be clean of contamination. Equipment will be inspected by <br />the Engineer for fluid leaks that could mix with and contaminate site materials. <br />Contractor shall replace contaminated equipment with acceptable equipment at no <br />additional cost to the County. <br />D Contractor shall not use drilling mud or liquids. <br />E Contractor shall drill well borings at the well locations shown on the plans. <br />F Contractor shall drill to the depth specified in the plans. The County will not <br />compensate for borings drilled deeper by the Contractor unless authorized by the <br />Engineer. <br />G Contractor shall remove any vegetation from the drilling area. Organic materials shall <br />not fall into the borehole <br />li Contractor shall distribute spoils of well borings in the vicinity of the boring. <br />IF Contractor shall dispose subsurface litter or wood wastes encountered during drilling <br />in a contractor provided container, or remove it from the work area. The work area <br />shall be left in a neat and orderly condition on a daily basis. <br />3.04 BORING LOGS <br />A Contractor shall provide a California Registered Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer <br />licensed in California to log borings during the drilling and installation of all sail gas <br />wells. <br />B Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer shall be experienced for 5 or more years in soil <br />boring, sample logging, and installation of soil gas monitoring wells at Landfills in <br />California. Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for supervising and <br />documenting information. <br />C Geologist shall document the boring and soil cuttings, maintain a hand written log <br />showing the materials encountered, depth of each boring -drilled, and the time required <br />for drilling. <br />D Observations shall be made at 5 -foot intervals. <br />E Soils shall be described using ASTM D2488 -09a or other approved classification <br />system, such as the Unified Soil Classification System. <br />FH-LFG System Upgrade Phase 1 Section 01730 Page 23 <br />Technical Specifications Soil Gas Well <br />
