F Soil samples shall be recovered from each boring for laboratory analyses for gradation <br />and in-situ soil -moisture. <br />G Before the construction of each soil gas well, Geologist shall provide a hand written <br />boring log to EHD inspector and inform the EHD inspector and Engineer of any sand <br />pockets. <br />3.05 SPOILS <br />Contractor shall dispose drilling spoils in area 10 to 15 ft away from the well boring. Soil <br />mound shall be leveled at the completion of the well. <br />3.06 UNCOMPLETED BORINGS: <br />A If there is an interruption in work, such as overnight shutdown or inclement weather, <br />the Contractor shall: <br />B Measure and record depth of uncompleted borings at the end of the work day and <br />again when drilling resumes. <br />C Cover the well opening with a watertight uncontaminated cover with the following <br />methods: <br />D Contractor may cover the boring with a 3/ -inch thick 4x8 plywood or a 2ft x 2ft steel <br />plate. Contractor shall place bentonite around plywood or steel covers if used. The <br />plywood shall be secured in place or weighted down so that it cannot be tampered or <br />blown away by the wind. <br />E Direct all surface runoff away from the boring location <br />F Cordon the work area with safety cones and caution tape to the satisfaction of the <br />Engineer. <br />G Contractor shall verify the depth of the well the next day by measuring with the <br />weighted tape. If the boring has collapsed, then the Contractor shall re -drill the boring <br />- at no additional cost to the County. <br />1011110FTRIA0919000 091 IN 0, 1061 <br />A If impenetrable obstructions are encountered during drilling, the Contractor shall <br />cease drilling and promptly notify the Engineer.
