The samples are analyzed for the following field parameters from all wells:
Elevation (Quarterly) pH
Temperature Turbidity
Electrical Conductivity(EC)
The samples are analyzed for the following monitoring parameters:
Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) Chloride
Carbonate Alkalinity Bicarbonate Alkalinity
Nitrate-Nitrogen Sulfate
Calcium Magnesium
Potassium Sodium
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) Dissolved Iron
Surface water is analyzed for the same monitoring parameters. Soil gas is monitored
semiannually for Methane and VOCs (USEPA Method TO-15). Lysimeter samples (soil
pore water), if available are monitored semiannually for the same field and monitoring
parameters as groundwater.
4.1.2 Constituents of Concern
In addition to the field and monitoring parameters, samples are also analyzed every 5
years for the following constituents of concern (COC):
VOC (extended list) Dissolved Metals
Semi-volatile Organic Compounds Chlorophenoxy Herbicides
Organophosporus Compounds
Surface water is analyzed for the same COCs.
5-year COCs were last monitored during the second semiannual period of 2014. The
next 5-year COC monitoring event will occur in the second semiannual period of 2019.
4.2 Concentration Limits and Statistical Evaluation
The concentration limits and statistical evaluation methods for synthetic organic
parameters and inorganic parameters are described below for LF-1 and LF-2
4.2.1 Synthetic Organic Compounds
The proposed concentration limits for synthetic constituents in samples from the
detection monitoring points (groundwater monitoring wells, surface water monitoring
points, and the vadose zone monitoring locations) will be the method detection limits
(MDLs) set by the laboratory.
