5.0 INTERVIEWS
5.1 Interview with Client
Eugene Marsili was interviewed in person on September 16, 2021 and by
telephone on September 23. He indicated that the Site has been owned by his
family for around 80 years. The property is used to store equipment for an off-
site vineyard, he indicated; it was used to grow hay many years ago.
Mr. Marsili stated that three or four underground fuel storage tanks were
removed from the Site. He removed a large diesel tank, and two or three smaller
gasoline tanks were removed by his brother. Mr. Marsili was not present for the
second removal and could not recall the exact details, but he was certain that all
underground tanks had been removed from the Site. He pointed out the
locations of the former underground storage tanks.
Mr. Marsili indicated that no aboveground storage tanks are located on the Site,
with the exception of mobile fuel tanks. Equipment maintenance takes place on
the Site, he indicated, and used oil is collected in a drum which he periodically
takes for recycling.
According to Mr. Marsili, the large shop on the northern parcel was constructed in
the early to mid-1980s. The shop on the south parcel was constructed in the
1970s, and the house and storage building on the south parcel were constructed
in the 1950s. Mr. Marsili believe the current domestic well was also constructed
in the 1950s or 1960s; an older well was destroyed.
Mr. Marsili was not aware of any chemical storage, dumping, buried debris, or
additional environmental issues on the Site.
6.0 SITE DOCUMENTS
6.1 Environmental Health Department Records
Hazardous Materials Records
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department was contacted
regarding the Site addresses of 3212 and 3225 East Woodson Road.
