8.0 IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
The following sources of past, current, on-site, and off-site contamination have
been identified as a result of this investigation:
1
6
3
E
Identified Contamination Source Evaluation
The house and Quonset but on the
Site date to the 1940s. A trailer
house was located at the northwest
corner of the Site from 1975
through 1993. (Current and past
on-site)
The Site was used for agriculture,
primarily vineyard, from 1952 or
earlier through the present.
(Current and past on-site)
A domestic well, an irrigation well,
and two septic systems (both serve
the existing house) are located on
the Site. An object that appears to
be an old wellhead is located near
the northwest corner of the Site.
(Current and past on-site)
An aboveground storage tank is
located behind the Quonset but on
the Site. Prof. Shaw indicated that
it is empty. (Current on-site)
For any current or former structure
dating from the 1980s or earlier, the
assumption is made that lead -
containing materials and/or
pesticide residues may be present
in and around the structure. The
typical standard of care for SSCRs
does not require any further
investigation of current or former
structures. Underground
infrastructure may be present in the
vicinity of the former house.
As with any agricultural property,
agricultural chemical residues may
be present in Site soils from
farming. The typical standard of
care for SSCRs does not require
any further investigation of past
agricultural use.
The domestic well, irrigation well,
and septic systems are currently in
use. No permit records were
identified for the possible old
wellhead; it is not connected to a
pump or power supply.
Fuels may have been handled on
the Site in the past. While it is
possible that residual chemicals
may remain in on-site soils, no
evidence of impacts to the Site was
identified.
LOGE 2123 9
