All wastes will be properly sorted by Burlington Environmental to ensure compatibility of waste collected. Labpacked wastes will be kept in original containers and subsequently packaged into DOT specified packages with appropriate absorbent. 9. Motor oil, latex paint and antifreeze may be bulked during the collection event if done within a secured area away from the receiving area. The bulking of solvents, oil-based paints or gasoline, shall not occur during hours when wastes are being accepted at the collection facility; and the bulking of solvents, oil-based paints or gasoline shall be conducted in compliance with a written protocol approved by local fire and air pollution prevention agency jurisdictions in which the collection facility is located. 10. Batteries will be shipped to a Department -approved permitted battery recycler. 11. Spilled and leaked waste shall be collected immediately to prevent spreading the waste. 12. Receiving, handling, and waste storage areas (excluding vehicle traffic lane(s) shall have a continuous asphalt or concrete base for the receiving, handling and storage of HHW. The continuous base shall be designed in accordance with Section 66264.175 (b)(1), CCR, Title 22 or shall be covered with contiguous plastic sheeting of at least 6 mil thickness. Any torn or punctured plastic must be repaired replaced immediately. 13. Waste handling areas designated for sorting, bulking and packaging shall have a canopy or other roof structure, when necessary, to prevent exposure to excessive heat or precipitation. 14. Biohazardous waste will not be accepted at the collection site. 15. Radioactive waste shall not be accepted at the collection site(with the exception of smoke detectors). or
