In the event of an emergency, the site .supervisor is responsible for <br />assessing the situation and determining the proper actions to be taken. This <br />incudes, but is not limited to: <br />1. Immediate notification of the emergency to the San Jouquin County <br />Public Works (SJCPW) contact. <br />2. Immediate delegation of responsibilities to assistant site supervisor <br />and other Philip personnel including, but not limited to.- <br />a. <br />o:a. Continued operation or evacuation of site to assistant site <br />supervisor. <br />b. Direct handling/management of problem materials/situation to <br />Philip personnel. <br />3. Notification of neighboring properties (if necessary). <br />4. Initiating communications with off-site emergency response agencies. <br />j. Coordinating with these agencies and the SJCPW contact throughout <br />the response <br />The Site Supervisor shall coordinate these activities with the help of. .� <br />the assistant site supervisor. In most cases, the site supervisor will <br />deal directly with the emergency and response teams, while the <br />assistant site supervisor deals with the operations and safety of <br />personnel and participants not directly associated with the <br />emergency. <br />2. Assistant Site Supervisor <br />The Assistant Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the <br />packaging of the waste collected and ensuring its proper classification. He/she <br />will help workers in preparing waste inventories and drum labels, and perform <br />all duties of the Site Supervisor in the event that the Site Supervisor is unable <br />to continue. <br />In the event of an emergency, the assistant site supervisor is <br />responsible for assisting the site supervisor in handling the emergency. In <br />many cases, the site supervisor will be directly handling the emergency and <br />will delegate control of the event to the assistant site supervisor. Unless <br />otherwise delegated by the site supervisor, the assistant site supervisor's <br />duties will include: <br />1. Assessing additional hazards caused by the emergency situation <br />2. Assessing whether the site can operate safely during the emergency <br />situation <br />3. Ensuring the safety of all employees, the public and SJCPW <br />personnel. <br />4. Overseeing all personnel not directly associated with the emergency. <br />5. Overseeing the site evacuation if necessary. <br />6. Performing all the duties of the site supervisor if an evacuation is <br />deemed unecessary and until the site supervisor can resume control <br />of those duties. <br />3. Site Safetv and Health Officer (Normally the Assistant Site Supervisor) <br />Has the responsibility of making sure all personnel have read the <br />workplan.
