d) Crosswalks shall be located at all intersections and mid-block crossing points. <br /> e) Pedestrian gates into the fenced portions of the school/park site shall be provided <br /> from each street intersection. <br /> f) Bicycle racks shall be provided near use areas,easily accessible from walkways. <br /> 2.3.3 Parking <br /> a) On-street parking shall be provided along both sides of surrounding collector and <br /> - local streets. <br /> b) The school parking lot shall be available for park needs during non-school hours. <br /> 2.3.4 Entry Treatment <br /> a) The park will provide the primary sense of arrival into the heart of the neighborhood <br /> and will be located at the terminus of the primary collector street leading from <br /> Mountain House Parkway <br /> b) A landscaped plaza shall be located at the terminus of the collector street leading <br /> from Mountain House Parkway,Avik to establish a visual/ceremonial entry to the park <br /> and to the school beyond. <br /> c) The entry plaza area shall be designed as an integral part of landscape treatment for <br /> the neighborhood entry drive from De-Anza Boulevard, and shall utilize materials and <br /> details consistent with the common neighborhood theme. <br /> d) Entry plaza elements may include enhanced paving,bollards,walls, special accent <br /> planting,sculpture,arbors and trellises,or other similar features. <br /> e) Structures and furnishings shall be constructed of high quality, durable materials <br /> f) The entry plaza shall include public art, which may include earth forms,sculpture, <br /> special furnishings or landscape elements,in addition to more traditional art forms. <br /> 2.3.5 Landscaping <br /> a) Park landscaping shall utilize the designated neighborhood plant palette for shade <br /> trees and flowering accent trees,as specified by Specific Plan I. <br /> b) Landscaping shall provide for shaded walkways,definition of and shading of uses <br /> areas and wind protection. <br /> c) Grading/berming may be used to define use areas,provide spectator viewing areas <br /> and aid in wind protection,and will be used around the picnic area. <br /> d) Vines along fences shall be used to visually soften the views of these elements. <br /> e) A windrow of trees shall be located between the school and park site to provide wind <br /> protection and a visual backdrop for the park. <br /> 2.3.6 Fencing <br /> a) Fencing,where required,shall consist of four to five foot high,black vinyl-clad,chain <br /> link fencing. <br /> b) Fence design,shall be compatible with the common neighborhood theme. <br /> 2.3.7 Lighting <br />
