Pneumercator Non - Discriminating
Liquid Float- Switch Sensors
SECTION 2 . DESCRIPTION OF THE EQUIPMENT
The basic function of the consoles is to provide both audible and visual warning
alarms at the occurrence of high or low process condition via high/low level switches .
The LS600 tank mounted sensing devices transmit alarm conditions by opening or
closing dry switch contacts . Alarm conditions are indicated by red LED alarm lights and
horn mounted on the console .
The standard liquid switch sensors used with the consoles are the Model Series
LS600 liquid float-switch sensors . These switches consist of from one to four magnetic
cylindrical floats mounted on a brass or stainless steel tube suspended into the top of a
liquid storage tank . Each float actuates a switch when the liquid level rises or falls past
the float . When the switch is actuated the alarm is activated .
Another device that can be interfaced to the consoles is the LS610 , which
consists of a flat float that swivels up and down on a square shaped body . The float
actuates a switch when the level rises to a certain level activating the alarm .
