Before mounting the control to the tank, refer to
Table 2 to determine which flow restrictors are required for
your unit. NOTICE: Refer to the specifications for tank size
(pages 3-4) to determine the unit number.
Change the backwash flow restrictor only for the 12 -inch
softeners; PV -30B and PV -45 A/B. To change the restrictor:
1. Remove the drain fitting retaining clip (Fig. 10), then
pull out the drain fitting.
2. Pull out the larger ID flow restrictor and insert the smaller
ID flow restrictor (packed in the small parts pack).
NOTICE: To ensure a good seal, the side of the restrictor
with identification numbers should face into the valve,
with the smooth side facing out.
3. Lubricate the O-ring on the drain fitting with a silicone -
TABLE 2 - FLOW RESTRICTIONS
based lubricant, wen reinstall the fitting. NOTICE: If
the optional drain fitting kit, PN 00-4477-82, is to be
used, install the kit at this time.
4. Examine all three O -rings for cuts. Replace as needed.
4. For 12 -inch diameter units only, transfer the two O -rings
from the blue eductor throat to the gray eductor throat
(packed in the small parts pack).
UNIT
BACKWASH
FLOW
NOZZLE
PV -45
3.5 gpm (13.2 Ipm)
Light Brown
PV -60
5.5 gpm (20.8 Ipm)
Green
PV -90
5.5 gpm (20.8 Ipm)
Yellow'
PV -120
5.5 gpm (20.8 Ipm)
Black
PV -135
5.5 gpm (20.8 Ipm)
Red
*Standard from factory.
In
RETAINING
CLIP
im
FIG. 10
BRINE REFILL
THROAT FLOW
Light Brown 0.8 gpm (3.0 Ipm)
Blue 0.8 gpm (3.0 Ipm)
Blue" 0.8 gpm (3.0 Ipm)
Blue 1.4 gpm (5.3 Ipm)
Blue 1.4 gpm (5.3 Ipm)
FIG. 11
INSTALLATION / 11
EDUCTOR
PLATE
FIG. 11
INSTALLATION / 11
