5. Transfer the O-ring from the beige cductor nozzle to the
appropriate nozzle from the small parts pack.
6. Lubricate the O -rings with silicone lubricant.
7. Install the new nozzle into the eductor throat, then
install the assembly into the valve. The locating plate
on the throat should face to the rear of the valve. Be
certain both the nozzle and the throat are fuTnly seated.
8. Reinstall the eductor screen. NOTICE: The screen is
intended to protect the eductor nozzle from being plugged
by dirt. This protection is less critical for the larger
nozzles. If the hard water contains iron but no large
particles, the screen should not be used.
9. Reinstall the eductor cover with the three screws.
A CAUTION: Be sure the eductor cover gasket is
properly sealed in its groove, or the valve may leak.
NOTICE: If other optional kits are to be installed in the
control, it may be more convenient to install the kit(s) in the
control at this time. The duplex plugs should not be installed
until after the control is mounted on the tank
A CAUTION: Each tank port contains a white plas-
tic bushing with an O-ring below it. DO NOT remove
these bushings, or there will be a leak.
Locate the eight 0.5" hex -head bolts in the small parts pack.
Place the control on the tank and secure it to the tank in the
rear with one bolt to prevent the control from falling
forward.
A CAUTION: The control must be properly seated
on the manifold gaskets, or the connection will leak.
Wiggle the control valve until it seats.
FIG. 12
12 / HI-FLO® 2 WATER SOFTENER
Install the remaining seven bolts and tighten the bolts with
an open-end wrench.
Verify that the Flo-Pakj.M tubing on PV -B units has been
connected as follows (Fig. 13).
Solenoid
Port No.
Valve Connection
1
Flo -Pak Tee
2
Eductor Cover
3
Drain Fitting (Top)
Complete the connections by connecting the piping to the
rear (PV -A units) or top (PV B units) of the control.
SALT STORAGE CONTAINER
Place the salt storage container on a smooth, level surface as
near to the media tank as possible. Rough surfaces or
foreign objects under the tank can result in uneven stresses
which can crack or puncture the container. Rotate the
container until the brine valve chamber is in the rear.
NOTICE: For PV -120A, PV -120B, and PV -135B models,
remove the 0.8 gpm flow control from the top of the brine
valve and replace it with the 1.4 gpm flow control from the
small parts pack.
OPTIONAL (LARGE-SIZED)
PLASTIC BRINE TANK ASSEMBLY
NOTICE: When using Optional Plastic Brine Tanks with
PN 00-7736-80 Industrial Brine Valve, order
PN 00-3407-40 adapter kit.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Locate the brine tank approximately 6 inches from the
softener tank.
BRINE
SAFE?
VALVI
IBER
