Assembly the ell and PN 00-3047-40 adapter kit to the
top of the brine valve and attach the plastic brine line to
the safety valve.
CONNECTING BRINE AND DRAIN LINES
Brine Line
Measure the amount of brine tubing needed to reach from
media tank to salt storage container, then add four feet to
permit easy removal of the brine valve. Cut both ends of the
tubing squarely.
Life the brine valve out of the brine chamber. On the brine
valve float stem you will find a white plastic nut and insert.
Slip the stem out of its upper retainer, remove the nut and
insert, and return the stem to its original position. Install the brine
line as follows:
1. Slip the plastic nut over one end of the tubing, press a
plastic insert into the end of the tubing, and connect to
the brine valve. Tighten the plastic nut.
2. Remove the white plastic nut from the small parts pack
and slip it over the other end of the brine tubing. Press a
plastic insert into the end of the tubing and tighten the
nut securely to the brine connection.
DUPLEX MODELS
BRINE SYSTEM ASSEMBLY
Duplex models using a common brine tank should be
assembled as follows (Fig. 14):
1. Cut off approximately 2 inches of brine tubing and
assemble to the brine safety valve.
2. Connect the center leg of the duplex tee provided
PN 00-3030-80 to the other end of the tubing.
3. Connect the brine line tubing from each softener to the
two remaining ends of the duplex tee.
Drain Line
Locate the pipe clamp in the small parts package and the
length of 1/2" drain line (not furnished with the conditioner).
1. Slide the hose clamp over the end of the drain line, push-
ing it several inches from the end.
2. Push the end of the drain line over the drain fitting and
move the clamp up to within 1/4" of the end of the tube
to get a tight seal (Fig. 15). Tighten the screw on the
clamp.
FIG. 15
INSTALLATION / 13
