A CAUTION: Do not damage the elbows by scrap-
ing them on the bracket
3. Locate one gray PVC plug from the kit. Loosely screw
the bolt from the kit into the end of the plug with the pin
(Fig. 19).
NOTICE: The following step is intended to show how deep
the plug will fit into the valve.
4. A. PV -A units - Insert the plug into the INLET port of
the valve body until it seats.
A CAUTION: The square slot inside the port must
be fully exposed when the plug is seated (Fig. 20).
Remove the plug.
B. PV -B units - Insert the plug into the OUTLET part
of the valve body until it seats. Remove the plug.
FIG. 18
PIN
FIG. 19
5. Locate one O-ring in the kit and liberally lubricate the
O-ring with a silicone -based lubricant, then install the
O-ring on the plug.
6. Reinstall the plug into the INLET port (PVA units) or
OUTLET port (PV -B units). It may be necessary to rap
the end of the bolt to fully seat the plug. For PV -A units,
check to be sure the slot exposed in Step 4 is completely
visible.
A CAUTION: Do not pull the plug out unless
absolutely necessary. Removing the plug may cut
the O-ring.
7. Unscrew the bolt from the plug and lay the bolt aside for
future use.
8. Lubricate the 0 -rings on the coupling adapters (and
elbows on PV -B units) and reinstall the. control valve
onto the tank bracket.
NOTICE: Since PV -A units have the plug installed in the
inlet port, the regenerating unit will use soft water from the
on-line unit during backwash. DO NOT install the plugs in
an application with a duplex alternator, or neither unit would
be able to backwash.
WIRING
A WARNING! SHOCK HAZARD! DISCONNECT
ALL POWER BEFORE WIRING THE UNIT!
The unit is supplied with a six-foot, three -wire power cord.
If local code requires rigid conduit, connect the power source
as L'!ows:
1. Grasp the timer cover plate by the side slots and pull the
cover plate straight out.
y ,
4
INSTALLATION
BOLT
INLET i
PORT A
SLOT
FIG. 20
INSTALLATION / 15
