40 f a
Austin Road Landfill -4- 23 May 2000
Inspection Report
COMPLIANCE WITH MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM:
Review of the SMRs found the Discharger, for the most part, to be in compliance with the monitoring
and reporting requirements of the Order. However, quarterly SMRs are missing influent flow
measurements.
RWQCB SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS:
To supplement the inspection. I collected influent, effluent and receiving water samples and submitted
these samples for independent analytical testing. The samples were analyzed for all of the constituents
required within the EIRP. As part of the sample collection, I also conducted field screening for pH,
electrical conductivity, and dissolved oxygen. The results of the field screening are summarized in
Table 1. The results of the independent analytical testing are summarized within Table 2. No
exceedances of effluent limits were identified by the independent analyses. Chloromethane was
detected but not quantifiable in the effluent and R-2 samples. Because chloromethane was not detected
in the influent, this detection may be a laboratory artifact.
Table 1, Results of Field Screening
Dissolved 02 Temperature pH Conductivity
SAMPLE ID (mg/1) °C H Units ohs/cm
Influent NS NS 6.92 957
Effluent 10.14 20.2 7.28 947
Receiving Water R1 9.9 23.1 8.92 118
Receivin Water R2 17.7 21.4 7.95 625
Table 2, Summary of Analytical Results
REC.
