Pharmaceutical Waste, including expired, spent,partials, out dated or <br /> patient returns. <br /> 4.2. The following materials will not be considered medical waste for the purpose of <br /> disposal. <br /> 4.2.1. Microbiological cultures and associated glassware that contain no <br /> infectious agents or fluid blood. <br /> 4.2.2. Industrial sharps (i.e., razor blades, miscellaneous needles, or other sharp <br /> objects)that have not contacted infectious materials. <br /> 4.2.3. Paper towels, paper products, and other articles that contain nonfluid <br /> blood. <br /> 4.2.4. Syringes without needles. <br /> 4.2.5. Medical devices or products which are not otherwise classified as medical <br /> waste. <br /> 4.2.6. Animal, fluid blood or blood products that is not infectious. <br /> 5.0 RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> 5.1 Managers and Supervisors <br /> 5.1.1 Managers and supervisors will ensure that all medical wastes are properly <br /> disposed of in accordance with this procedure. <br /> 5.1.2 Managers and supervisors will ensure that all affected personnel have been <br /> trained on this procedure. <br />
