• Medical hazardous,and radioactive waste is radioactive waste. <br /> i <br /> Definitions and Interpretations: <br /> • "Medical Waste Generator" means any person, business, etc. but not limited to, <br /> whose act or process produces medical waste including a provider of health care. <br /> • "Small Quantity Generator" means generating less than 200.pounds per month of <br /> medical waste(Wohazardous e;sharps waste). <br /> • "Large Quantity Generatorf means generating more than 200 pounds per month of <br /> medical waste(biohazardous waste;sharps waste). <br /> ® "Medical Waste Management " means a document which is completed by <br /> generators of medical waste and tied with the enforcement agency. <br /> (See attached pian for large quantity generators). <br /> • "Registration" means to obtain a permit from the enforcement agency as follows; <br /> "Small quantity generators" (<200 ibsJmo) using onsite steam sterilization, incineration, <br /> or microwave technology to.treat medical waste. <br /> Note! If a small quantity generator is not required to register, than the small quantity <br /> generator does not have to fie a Medical Waste Management Plan, but must maintain <br /> on file for two years, a completed tracking document described below. <br /> "Medical Waste Tracking Document" means a completed tracking document of all <br /> medical waste removed for treatment or disposal.At the time medical waste is received <br /> by a waste transporter,the transporter shall provide the medical waste generator with a <br /> copy of the tracking document for the waste generator's medical waste records. <br /> Transporter maintains records on file for three years. <br /> "Large Quantity Generators" (>200 lbstmo) means all large generators will register with <br /> the enforcement agency and fie a Medical Waste Management Plan. and maintain <br /> records on file for three years,less noted register exceptions stated ow; <br /> -Exceptions means registering as one; <br /> -If more than one generator are operating in the same building <br /> -If more than one generator are operating in differpnt buildings on the same or adjacent <br /> property(within 400 yards from the property boundary of the primary registration site). <br /> • Storage of Medical Waste pertains to separation, red bags, location, odor, time <br /> management,temperature, sharp waste, and biohazardous waste. <br /> 311 <br />
