Drainage
Non -contact water will be directed to The Non -Contact Water Sediment Pond
located on the North Side of the South Fork of Little Johns Creek in the South West
Corner of Forward Landfill. Non -Contact water is delivered to the pond through a
series of underground piping, ditches, catch basins and pump stations. Non -Contact
water is held in the Sediment Pond until it is sampled and analyzed in accordance
with Forward Landfill's storm water monitoring plan, then discharged to the South
Fork of Little John's Creek. A log is kept on site recording the volume of storm
water discharged to the South Fork of Little John's Creek.
3. Leachate
All Leachate or Contact Water is collected by the active Waste Management Units
(WMU) Leachate Collection System (LCS) and directed to the Leachate Collection
Sump located in the WMU. Leachate is then pumped through an underground 6"
High Density Polyethylene Pipe (HDPE) and delivered to the Leachate Evaporation
Pond (WMU F) located North of the South Fork of Little John's Creek in the South
West Corner of Forward Landfill. Stockpiling of soil waiting for analytical results
may occur in "WMU G." This area will be bermed and collected water pumped to
WMU F. Contact Water from the maintenance yard is collected at the sump, located
at the South -East Corner of the maintenance yard pumped into Forward's Water
Truck and disposed of in WMU F. Forward has completed a new WMU F, which is
located North of the South Fork of Little John's Creek in the South West corner of
Forward Landfill. Forward has obtained a permit from the City of Stockton Waste
Water Treatment Plant to discharge excess Leachate at their facility. Forward will
act upon this permit if insufficient holding capacity of WMU F is reached.
Winter2000.doc
