VESERIS <br />Contingency Plan <br />Section 3 — Effective Date Supersedes Page <br />Branch Safety Organization 9/20/2021 New 3-1 <br />3. BRANCH SAFETY ORGANIZATION <br />The responsibility for the Branch's safety program lies with the Branch <br />Operations Manager. The organization used to implement this plan varies <br />according to the size of the Branch, the chemicals it stores, the existence of <br />repackaging facilities, and its involvement in the management of hazardous <br />wastes. The implementation of this plan requires an EMERGENCY <br />COORDINATOR and an ALTERNATE EMERGENCY COORDINATOR(s). <br />The Branch Operations Manager or the Branch Operations Supervisor <br />functions as the Emergency Coordinator, alternates are designated as <br />appropriate. Although the Alternate is second in command, he/she must be <br />fully qualified to take over all the functions of the Emergency Coordinator in <br />his/her absence (refer to Section 6.45 of the Operating Standards Manual for <br />details). In addition to the Emergency Coordinator and alternate positions, <br />when applicable, employees should be identified and assigned to the <br />following emergency functions: <br />FIRST AID LEADER(s) <br />FIRE/SPILL RESPONSE TEAM LEADER(s) <br />ASSEMBLY POINT LEADER(s) <br />Emergency Coordinators: <br />The list of personnel assigned as leaders and team members is located on <br />pages 7 & 8 in Section 3 of this plan. The responsibilities of each function <br />include: <br />I. Branch Operations Manager <br />It is the responsibility of the Branch Operations Manager, with <br />assistance from Regional Staff, to provide the mechanisms necessary <br />to implement the plan. <br />A. Personnel (refer to Section 6.45 of the Operating Standards Manual) <br />An Emergency Coordinator and Alternate must be designated and trained. <br />Additional personnel are designated and trained to implement the plan. <br />All personnel are aware of the hazards of the products handled at the branch.
