The area is dry in the summer with rain averaging 2-3 inches per month during the winter and early <br />spring. Historically, rainfall totals approximately 15 inches per year. Management practices during the dry <br />months will involve monitoring to be sure enough moisture is in the material, and during the rainy <br />months to prevent any pot of water on site <br />J. contingency Plans <br />1. Fire Prevention <br />Temperatures will be monitored daily. If temperatures in any windrows start to rise, water will <br />be added, as well as more frequent turnings to control the temperatures. <br />2. Water Supply <br />There is a well located on the dairy facility used as a primary source of water. Land owner also <br />has second dairy with 2 additional wells on site as a contingency. <br />3. Equipment <br />If Primary equipment is in need of repair or replacement, a contract is in place with Volvo <br />equipment rental for emergencies. <br />4. Power <br />Dairy facility has a generator in place for emergency backup if there is a loss of power. <br />5. Personnel <br />The owner/operator will maintain the majority of operations, in his absence, the land owner will <br />be available to make any operational decisions necessary. The dairy's personnel will also be <br />available if needed. <br />K. Personnel Training <br />All personnel will be trained in dust suppression, fire prevention, and odor management. Records will be <br />in office building at location. <br />L. Biofiltration <br />This is not applicable <br />M. Load Enclosure / Tarping <br />Arriving loads will be on walking floor trailers, and loads will be tarped far odor reduction. <br />
