Provide <br /> a corrective action statement to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days. <br /> This is (Class 2)Violation. <br /> 26 CA Code of Regulations 66262.34(d)(2)3030017-Containers of hazardous waste closed except when adding or <br /> removing waste. <br /> OBSERVATION:The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed on-site: <br /> -One purple metal 55 gallon drum observed on a fork lift has an open bung hole located on the east side of the <br /> property <br /> -One metal black 55 gallon drum observed in the hazardous waste storage area with a yellow bag sitting on top of the <br /> open drum. <br /> - Multiple 5 gallons containers are observed in <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and storage, <br /> except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed <br /> when not adding or removing waste. Provide a corrective action statement and supporting documentation to the San <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days. <br /> This is a repeat violation (Class 2) Violation. <br /> 27 CA Code of Regulations 66262.34(d)(2)3030019- Inspects all hazardous waste storage areas at least weekly. <br /> OBSERVATION:The following facility hazardous waste containers are not inspected weekly: <br /> -One black metal 55 gallons drum located in the hazardous waste storage area was observed with severely damage <br /> labeling and no lids. <br /> -One blue metal used oil container located in the hazardous waste storage area were observed without labeling and <br /> overfill equipment <br /> -One purple poly drum is observed laying on it's side located in the hazardous waste storage area. <br /> Per Edker,there is a wasp nest in the hazardous waste storage area which prevents him from going to the location. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:The owner or operator shall inspect areas used for container storage or transfer, at least <br /> weekly, looking for leaking containers and for deterioration of containers and the containment system caused by <br /> corrosion or other factors. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately,the following containers need to be closed or transferred into a container in <br /> good condition.
