fwer M’s
►
AGGREGATES ■ TRUCKING
''
effectively in the corrected containers, and report all hazardous
waste incidents immediately.
California Materials site has in total thirteen 55-gallon drums of other oils within the trailer
shop. These oils consist of Motor Oil SAE 50, Transmission Fluid, Gear EPS SAE SOW, SYN
HD SAE 50, and Drivetrain fluid. These drums are on roller carts and fall under
Environmental Equivalence for secondary containment. This means the shop is equipped
with a spill kit close by in case any spill and/or discharge occurs under the minor category.
In the case of a major spill and/or discharge, a spill clean-up contractor will be called to
remove any contaminated materials.
Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures Plan
California Materials Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures Plan has been
developed in accordance with the regulatory requirements of 40CFR Part 112 and has
specially been created to address potential spills of diesel fuel, lubricants, and waste oil
from the aboveground storage tanks and containers on-site.
California Materials site has a 10,000 gallon above ground fuel tank enclosed in a
secondary containment wall that gets fueled up by Dawson Oil Co, a 250-gallon double
walled aboveground tank of motor oil and a 175-gallon double-walled aboveground tank of
hydraulic oil behind the truck shop, in a covered patio, that is restocked by Hunt and Sons.
This covered patio behind the truck shop also holds the 400-gallon double-walled
aboveground tank of used oil that gets picked up by Safety Kleen. This patio also contains
non-petroleum-based products, such as antifreeze/coolant. There is a 165-gallon double
walled tank of used antifreeze/coolant and a 275-gallon double-walled tank of new
antifreeze/coolant.
All used oil from either shop gets pumped into the 400-gallon double-walled used oil tank
behind the truck shop once a job is completed. There is used oil left in drip pans,
containers, or any other means of collection once a job is completed.
All portable containers used for oils, or any other materials are to be labeled accordingly
before being used. *See Safety Compliance Manager for labels.
Behind the trailer shop is a covered patio with secondary containment for all used metal
and paper filters. Used filter drums are to be covered immediately after disposal of any
filter types. All empty drums ready to be picked up will be located in this patio on top of the
secondary containment. There are no drums to be left outside to weather exposure.
*Report all empty drums to Safety Compliance Manager immediately
