<br /> <br />Lovelace MRF and Transfer Station Department of Public Works/Solid Waste Division <br />Transfer Processing Report 2 County of San Joaquin <br />September 16, 2024 <br />1.4 SITE LOCATION <br />The facility is located at 2323 East Lovelace Road, Manteca, California 95336. This address is <br />an unincorporated area of San Joaquin County, north of the City of Manteca (Figure 1). <br /> <br />1.5 GENERAL LOVELACE TRANSFER STATION DESIGN REQUIREMENTS <br />The LTS is a regional facility designed to accept municipal solid waste and: <br /> <br />• Assist the surrounding jurisdictions in complying with the waste reduction and recycling <br />mandates of AB 939 <br />• Provide a safe and convenient location for both commercial and private citizens to <br />dispose of refuse <br />• Accept commingled recyclable materials, source - separated recyclables, and non- <br />recyclable materials <br />• Accumulate recyclable materials and deliver them to the appropriate market <br />• Transfer non-recyclable materials to a disposal facility <br />• Temporarily store materials if desired <br />• Allow for adjustment of operations to accommodate changing regulations and recycling <br />criteria <br />• Comply with all applicable regulations <br /> <br />1.6 FACILITY PLAN <br />The LTS is located on approximately 15 acres (Figure 2). The operating area of the Transfer <br />Station, including the Materials Recovery Facility, is approximately 10.6 acres. Structures within <br />the LTS include the Materials Recovery Facility (in which most material recovery activities occur), <br />an Office and Maintenance Building (show on drawing) and related structures. <br /> <br />The LTS has designated areas for unloading and transfer of solid waste from the refuse <br />collectors and the general public, unloading of source separated recyclables, processing source <br />separated food wastes, storage of recyclable materials for: wood waste, yard waste, green <br />waste, carpet, mattress and electronics storage, for vehicle parking, hazardous waste storage <br />from on-site refuse load checking activities, and for miscellaneous associated activities. <br />
