Customers will be directed <br />to unload at the appropriate disposal areas. <br /> <br />A MRF staff will be present in the green waste, carpet, cardboard and mattress unloading area <br />(Figure 2) upon receiving notification from the scale house of an incoming load. MRF staff will <br />monitor for prohibited and hazardous waste during unloading at these unloading areas. The <br />unloading stalls of green waste will be divided with concrete K rails for safety and material <br />separation. Stalls for unloading carpet, cardboard and mattress will be marked on the asphalt <br />pavement with white paint. Before closing, LTS staff will load disposed carpet and mattresses in <br />a fully enclosed and covered trailers with locking doors. Cardboards will be disposed in a bin <br />which will be covered with tarps or placed under a covered structure. Green waste will be <br />stockpiled behind the green waste stalls and placed in bins. <br /> <br />City of Manteca staff will guide the incoming food waste trucks in the MRF and inspect the load. <br />Food waste trucks will mechanically unload food waste inside the MRF in a designed area <br />(storage bunker) cordoned by steel or concrete walls (Figure 2). <br /> <br />2.5 PROCESSING <br />2.5.1 Separation <br />Recyclable materials are pushed to the south end of the tipping floor and placed in 40 yard bins <br />for delivery to the appropriate recycler. Recyclable material from commingled sources in the <br />MRF are separated and pushed aside by loaders for further processing. Once the materials are <br />set aside at the designated locations, refuse workers separate the recyclable materials by hand <br />and dispose in the designated recycle bins. <br /> <br />Food waste arriving at LTS is source separated and will be handled according to the FWPOP <br />(Appendix G). <br /> <br />Prohibited wastes identified by MRF staff or equipment operators are separated and disposed of <br />in the designated method. If hazardous wastes or spills are discovered, then MRF staff or <br />equipment operators will notify Solid Waste Recovery Supervisors immediately. Lovelace <br />hazardous waste program procedures will then be implemented.
