Geosynte& <br /> consultants <br /> The IDW, once characterized, will be removed from the Site a California-licensed waste hauler, <br /> and disposed of at an appropriately licensed facility in accordance with state and federal <br /> regulations. <br /> If LNAPL is encountered, then disposal options for IDW will be assessed based on analytical <br /> data. <br /> The disposable sampling materials and personal protective equipment used in sample collection <br /> and processing (e.g., disposable gloves and paper towels)will be placed in heavy-duty garbage <br /> bags for disposal as municipal solid waste. <br /> 4.2.9 Site Restoration <br /> In accordance with San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department's site mitigation well <br /> and boring permit conditions,boreholes not designated for soil vapor probe installation will be <br /> backfilled with type I/II Portland cement. A grout inspection will be scheduled with the county <br /> for the day of investigation to observe borehole backfilling, as necessary. The surface of each <br /> borehole will be patched to match surrounding grade. <br /> 4.3 Quality Control Samples <br /> Quality control (QC) samples will be collected during implementation of the Work Plan and will <br /> consist of trip blanks, field blanks, field duplicates, and equipment blanks. The below field QC <br /> samples apply to soil and groundwater samples only with the exception of field duplicates, which <br /> also apply to soil vapor samples. <br /> 4.3.1 Trip Blanks <br /> Trip blanks are used to detect VOC contamination during sample shipping and handling. Trip <br /> blanks will consist of 40-milliliter(mL) volatile organic analysis (VOA)vials of de-ionized <br /> water that are prepared by the laboratory. Trip blanks will be transported to the sampling site, <br /> accompany the respective sampling containers during field activities, and be returned to the <br /> laboratory with the respective samples. Trip blanks will be submitted and analyzed at the <br /> frequency of one per sample cooler containing soil or groundwater samples for analysis of <br /> VOCs. The trip blanks will be analyzed for VOCs by USEPA Method 8260 only. <br /> 4.3.2 Field Blanks <br /> Field blanks are used to represent total ambient conditions during soil and groundwater sampling <br /> and laboratory sources of contamination. Field blanks will consist of analyte free water poured in <br /> the container in the field, preserved, and shipped to the laboratory with field samples. The <br /> frequency of field blanks will be one per day and will be analyzed for the same set of analysis as <br /> the soil and/or groundwater samples collected during the corresponding field day. <br /> 4.3.3 Field Duplicate Samples <br /> Field duplicate samples will be collected to assess the precision and overall quality of the <br /> sampling and analytical procedures. Field duplicate samples are collected at the same time and <br /> from the same source as the primary sample. Field duplicate samples will be collected, <br /> numbered, packaged, and sealed in the same manner as other samples, and submitted blind to the <br /> Investigation Work Plan—UST 817B 13 December 2024 <br />
