A review of the alarm history showed no
indication that an alarm had been triggered. The technician reported that he manually activated the annular sensor via
the monitor panel. As he is unable to remove the liquid from the annular space, the sensor will remain activated for
ongoing monitoring.
REGULATION GUIDANCE: The interstitial space shall be monitored with a monitoring system connected to an audible
and visual alarm system.
CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately contact a properly licensed, trained, and certified contractor to replace the failed
component with a functional component(LG 113-x listed, if applicable), and obtain a permit within one business day
from the EHD, if needed.
This is (Class 2)Violation.
50 CA Code of Regulations 2635, 2637.1, 2665, 2712 2060020-Spill buckets meet requirements, have been tested as
required, and records kept for 36 mths(TCR 9a).
OBSERVATION:The diesel direct-bury spill container failed when tested.
REGULATION GUIDANCE:All spill containers shall have a minimum capacity of five gallons and be capable of
containing a spill or overfill until it is detected or cleaned up.
CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately discontinue deposition of petroleum into this tank until the component is repaired
or replaced by a properly licensed, trained, and certified contractor under permit and inspection of the EHD. If the spill
container can't be replaced immediately, there is a possibility that the diesel UST system may be red tagged to
prevent fuel inputs.
OBSERVATION:Annual spill container testing was previously performed on May 2023 and was completed on July
2024, 1 months past due.
REGULATION GUIDANCE:This test is required upon completion of installation and every 12 months thereafter.
FA0003726 PR0231161 SCO01 05/22/2025
EHD Rev.12/06/2021 Page 6 of 7 CP22-UST FULL OIR
1868 E.
