Geosyntec°
consultants
Surveying, a California-licensed surveyor. Vertical coordinates will be surveyed using
NAVD88 datum and vertical survey data will have precision of at least 0.01 foot.
4.3.3 Monitoring Well Development
Once installed, the grout seal will be allowed to cure for at least 48 hours prior to well
development. Well development will be performed by the C-57 licensed drilling contractor
(PeneCore Drilling) under the supervision of Geosyntec field staff. Development will consist
of a combination of bailing, surging, and pumping to stabilize the filter pack and remove fines
from the filter pack and well screen. Groundwater quality parameters (temperature, pH,
specific conductance, dissolved oxygen, oxidation-reduction potential, and turbidity) will be
measured during well development and recorded by Geosyntec field staff. Development will
continue until turbidity measurements are either less than approximately 50 nephelometric
turbidity units (NTUs) or are above 50 NTUs but turbidity and other groundwater quality
parameters have stabilized despite ongoing development.
4.4 Waste Management and Equipment Cleaning
All equipment will be decontaminated prior to drilling at each location and before
demobilization following completion of drilling activities. All drill cuttings, well development
water, and decontamination fluids will be transferred to new 55-gallon steel drums and stored
in a designated on-Site area identified by Geosyntec staff for off-Site disposal in accordance
with applicable state and local regulations.
4.5 Health and Safety
Geosyntec has prepared a health and safety plan in the form of a THA for the field activities
described herein. A copy is contained in Appendix A. The THA contains procedures for
hazard identification and mitigation, emergency response including a map of the nearest
hospital and emergency contact information, incident reporting, use of appropriate personal
protective equipment (PPE), and air monitoring procedures. All field activities will be
performed in accordance with the THA.
Prior to the start of field activities each day, a safety tailgate meeting will be conducted and
documented that will include a discussion of the field activities to be performed, safe work
practices, identification of potential hazards, use of PPE, decontamination procedures, and
emergency response protocols.
OxyChem-Stockton MW Replacement Work Plan 7.18.25 6 2025.07.18
