Additional soil borings pertaining to further investigation will be excluded from this scope of work. In the <br /> event suspected contamination is encountered, FR will inform client to discuss additional sampling if <br /> recommended (additional and/or deeper borings). An addendum and change order for additional soil <br /> sampling and laboratory analysis may be required for such scenarios. <br /> Exact locations of the soil borings will be determined at the time of pre-marking the site and after utilities <br /> are cleared. Note that the number of samples collected may vary depending on field conditions. <br /> Locations will be determined at time of field investigation and are anticipated to be within proximity to <br /> the suspect areas of concern. Analysis of soil samples will be chosen based on field observations, and/or <br /> PID readings. <br /> A report detailing the sampling methods used and results of laboratory analysis will be prepared. <br /> Soil and Groundwater Sampling Methodology <br /> • A full access and/or limited access push probe rig with a licensed operator will be mobilized to the <br /> site to complete the proposed scope of drilling and sampling activities. All down-hole sampling <br /> equipment will be cleaned before starting a soil boring, with a non-phosphate detergent and water <br /> before each use. <br /> • This bid proposal includes cost for mobilization and demobilization, liners, bentonite, asphalt patch, <br /> fuel, and tubing. FR will backfill each boring with bentonite pellets. Each borehole will be <br /> abandoned/filled with bentonite, and restored to pre-drilling condition via applying patching <br /> materials. <br /> • Collect soil samples at the specified intervals, or at significant changes in lithology. Attempt to collect <br /> the lowermost sample at or immediately above the groundwater level if groundwater is encountered <br /> during drilling. <br /> • Monitor the headspace of each soil sample for the presence of volatile organic compounds using a <br /> photo-ionization detector (PID) or flame-ionization detector (FID). <br /> • Soil borings will be logged using the Unified Soils Classification System under the supervision of FR's <br /> State Professional Geologist (PG) or Registered Professional Engineer. Laboratory analysis will be <br /> compared to regulatory limits set forth by the DTSC, and San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board (SFBRWQCB). <br /> • FR will select all three (3) soil borings for the collection of groundwater samples. Groundwater <br /> samples will be selected based on up-gradient and down-gradient locations. Borehole groundwater <br /> samples will be collected via temporary monitoring wells using dedicated Teflon and Masterflex <br /> tubing and a low-flow peristaltic pump. <br /> • Samples will be analyzed by a state-certified laboratory. <br /> (��) 5 <br />
