Any contractor not adhering to these requirements will be asked to leave the premises.
4.0 General Requirervients
4.1 Hazard Assessment of Routine Jobs,Tasks, and Processes
4.1.1 The first step of developing and implementing a PPE program is to identify physical and health
hazards in the workplace. This process is known as a "hazard assessment." A Job Safety Analysis
(JSA), is conducted for each job within Cintas to evaluate, analyze, and identify safety and health
hazards associated with routine tasks, jobs, processes, and work processes which are also
reviewed by the corporate safety team. Identification of hazards include the following basic hazard
categories but not limited to: impact, penetration, compression (pinch points), chemical, heat,
harmful dusts, radiant energy, and infectious agents/blood.
4.1.2 Additionally, task-specific safety analyses are conducted, especially when historical injury data
indicates a risk, on an as needed basis. The Task-Based JSA (TBJSA) should be developed using
a systematic team approach based on observing the existing work environment, tools and
equipment utilized processes and hazards. The team will then brainstorm using their knowledge of
the hierarchy of hazard control process to determine if and what PPE should be used.
4.1.3 The input of the front-line partner is critical to these analyses because they are the experts on these
jobs and tasks. The JSA's are reviewed and updated annually. In addition, if a unique situation (i.e.
local request for different PPE) or job function arises, the JSA's can be revised by the local Safety&
Improvement Committee.
4.1.4 Jobs and tasks to be analyzed are prioritized based on-historical evidence as identified through
trend analyses, perceived risks, and the complexity and frequency of the tasks and jobs within our
operation. We seek out the input of our front-line employee-partners in identifying and prioritizing the
need for these analyses. These opportunities historically have been the source of Best Practices for
continuously improving the safety of the workplace.
4.1.5 Hazard assessments will also be conducted through:
Cintas PPE/JSA Program Reviewed 8/15/2025 6 of 11
