Project Health and Safety Plan <br /> E N 6 1 N a E R I N C. Martin Metals Finishing Inc. (Former) <br /> Stockton, California <br /> completed, as appropriate. Field activities will generate disposable PPE. Waste materials will be disposed in <br /> accordance with applicable laws and regulations. <br /> 6.7 Medical Surveillance <br /> Contractors and subcontractors who may wear respirators have received medical screening per the <br /> requirements of Title 29 CFR § 1910.134(k)and § 1926.103(c)(1), as well as Title 8 CCR§ 5144. Respirator use <br /> is not anticipated for this project. <br /> The CDIM project manager for each CDIM team member will maintain copies of the physician's statement <br /> of the employee's fitness for duty, the employee's ability to wear a respirator, and whether there are any work <br /> restrictions. Written copies of this information will be made available to the CDIM team lead within 48 hours upon <br /> request. <br /> 6.8 Safety Meetings <br /> Safety meetings, also called "tailgate meetings" will be held to ensure that all field personnel and visitors <br /> are aware of the health and safety hazards at the Site. The onsite CDIM project manager or representative will <br /> conduct a kickoff meeting prior to the initiation each Task identified in Section 3 that includes a discussion of the <br /> health and safety hazards identified in this HSP. Daily Safety Tailgate Meetings are also required at the start of <br /> each workday and will be completed in the field and documented using the form provided in Appendix C. <br /> 7 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT <br /> PPE for Site workers is selected and will be used based on existing and potential hazards encountered <br /> during the project and the requirements of Title 29 CFR§ 1910.120. The selection of PPE requires an evaluation <br /> of chemicals and their concentrations and physical hazards that may be encountered. Contractors and <br /> subcontractors will follow HSP-1, Personal Protective Equipment (Appendix B). <br /> 7.1 Required Face Coverings <br /> All employees shall wear face coverings when indoors on the Site. <br /> 7.2 PPE <br /> The following PPE are required for project work: <br /> • Hard hat; <br /> • Safety glasses; <br /> • Nitrile gloves; <br /> • Cut-resistant gloves (as needed); <br /> • Extension sampler device (as needed); <br /> • Rubber boots (as needed); and <br /> • Hearing Protection (as needed). <br /> CDIM—Fairgrounds Industrial Park Page 12 <br />
