<br />Preliminary Closure and Postclosure Maintenance Plan 2-11 Department of Public Works/Solid Waste <br />North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill County of San Joaquin <br /> <br />Section 21820(a) requires cost estimates meeting the following criteria: <br />1. Cost estimates for closure when most expensive to do so <br />2. Cost estimates for the design, materials, equipment, labor, administration, and quality assurance for closure <br />3. Cost estimate contingency of 20 percent <br />These criteria are applied to the 185 acres of the landfill, closed when fill is complete. Partial final closure projects will be completed as part of normal landfill operations in coordination with extension of the lined areas. <br />The closure cost estimate is based on applicable elements in the cost template established by CalRecycle. Cost of closure includes those items expected to be included in the final closure project assuming that the landfill is closed in a single project. Activities included in development of the lined areas are not included. <br />The estimated closure cost for the final closure of the landfill footprint is provided in Table 2. This estimate is based on third party contractor construction services.
