AECOM <br /> 4.3.4 Based on experience, knowledge of the AECOM SH&E program, and the tasks to be performed, <br /> the manager may recommend a reduction from the SSE time period specified in this procedure, or <br /> a full exemption form the time period. S3AM-015-FM1 SSE Record for Field Staff, or S3AM-015- <br /> FM2 SSE Record for Office Staff should be used to document the exemption or variance, and <br /> approval of the applicable SH&E Manager obtained. <br /> 4.3.5 Managers should notify the safety representative of any approved variances or exemptions from <br /> the SSE schedule. <br /> 4.3.6 Due to the wide variety of AECOM operations, a competency-based alternative system for SSE <br /> may be used. A competency-based system requires adequate training and safety skill <br /> demonstration for the specific tasks an individual is deemed competent to perform. An example of <br /> a competency-based system would be the project hiring of an experienced and well-trained heavy <br /> equipment operator.
