E. Completion <br /> Construction stakes shall be removed from the site of the work when no longer needed. — <br /> MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> No measurement will be made. Full compensation for conforming to these requirements, <br /> including all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals and for doing all the work <br /> involved in construction staking necessary for completion of the work, as shown on the Contract <br /> Plans, as specified in the Standard Specifications, these special provisions and as directed by <br /> the Engineer, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of <br /> work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed. _ <br /> SECTION 01060 — DISRUPTION OF EXISTING FACILITIES <br /> A. General <br /> All disruptions to existing facilities shall be approved by the Engineer in writing and shall be for <br /> the shortest duration possible. <br /> B. Submittals <br /> As part of the requirements for submittal of progress schedules, Contractor is required to <br /> prepare and submit in accordance with Section 01300 a written plan detailing the plan of <br /> operation, traffic control, the materials, methods, schedule, equipment to be used, hours of — <br /> operation, number of workers, and type of work to be conducted within the time period allowed <br /> for the disruption to existing facilities. The plan including traffic control plan shall be submitted to <br /> the City and County for approval eight weeks prior to planned work. Coordinate all activities for _ <br /> the execution of the Work. Shutdowns shall not proceed without the review and approval of the <br /> Engineer. No time extensions or damages will be considered for delays caused by failure of <br /> Contractor to plan, schedule and coordinate the Work. <br /> C. Water System Disruption <br /> The Contractor is cautioned that water and sewer main connections to the existing City system _ <br /> involve disruptions to existing facilities. Existing facilities must remain in service at all times <br /> except as provided herein. <br /> The Contractor shall coordinate shutdowns with City staff, providing a minimum of seventy-two <br /> (72) hours of prior notice. The Contractor shall schedule and coordinate the necessary shutdown <br /> of the existing facilities with the City of Tracy Utility Division, the shutdown shall be held to a _ <br /> minimum and the Contractor shall have all materials required for the work at the job site prior to <br /> requesting the shutdown. Contractor shall not operate any valves. All valve operation shall be <br /> conducted by the City of Tracy staff. <br /> This work includes connecting the new water main pipe to the existing City water main pipe <br /> where indicated on the plans. The newly installed facilities are to be isolated from the City <br /> system with AMES 3000 Double Check Detector Assembly, or equal, until bacteriologically _ <br /> acceptable. The Contractor shall designate the method and sequence of connecting to existing <br /> mains for the Engineer's approval to minimize contamination danger.
