Engineer, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of <br /> work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> SECTION 01680 — COMMISSIONING AND FACILITY STARTUP <br /> This section specifies requirements for the Contractor's performance during the commissioning <br /> of the structures, equipment and systems constructed and installed during the course of this <br /> contract. All commissioning work, as described in this section, shall be performed by the <br /> Contractor. <br /> The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to <br /> commission all systems and equipment to verify performance, function, and correct operation by <br /> performing procedures to activate, startup, adjust, and test the systems and equipment provided <br /> as part of this project. Commissioning shall demonstrate that the work is in operating order in <br /> accordance with the requirements of this specification section and the detailed requirements of <br /> the technical specification sections for the system or equipment specified. <br /> A. Field Service <br /> Where specified that the manufacturer of equipment shall provide field service, the service shall <br /> be provided by an authorized factory trained and qualified manufacturer's representative for the <br /> specific equipment. Equipment shall not be considered ready for full time operation until after <br /> the manufacturer's representative has checked and adjusted the equipment, and certified by <br /> written affidavit that the equipment has been properly installed, tested, adjusted, lubricated, and <br /> calibrated, and is ready for full time operation. _ <br /> B. Affidavits <br /> Acceptable affidavits shall be submitted prior to completion of the work. Affidavits shall contain <br /> the following specific wording: <br /> "The Name of Equipment has been properly installed, tested, adjusted, lubricated, and — <br /> calibrated, and is ready for full time operation. The installation has been inspected and has been <br /> found to be in conformance with our (the manufacturer's) standards and requirements." <br /> C. Initial Startup and Operation of Facilities <br /> The following listing is a general sequence of startup activity steps to be used in placing facility <br /> systems in operation: <br /> 1. Perform initial lubrication of equipment and have manufacturers check and adjust <br /> equipment. <br /> 2. Perform satisfactory testing of electrical work required prior to energizing of the <br /> electrical system. — <br /> 3. Complete calibration of instruments. <br /> 4. Satisfactorily complete system verification of instrumentation work. <br /> 5. Operate the equipment by manually initiating the operation. <br /> 6. Perform adjustments of the electrical and instrumentation work as related to the <br /> control and operation of the equipment being tested. — <br /> Division III-37 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> July 2007 CIP Nos. 7468, 7589, 7590 <br />
