B. The Contractor is required to minimize to the extent possible all noise associated <br /> with this work to meet noise requirements as specified in Section 01560. <br /> C. The Contractor is made aware that noise barriers, which may include a plywood _ <br /> shield, shall be erected to enclose all pumps and generators at the request of the <br /> Engineer and at no additional cost to the Owner. _ <br /> D. Contractor shall use noise attenuating pumps and motors. <br /> 3.03 PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICULAR ACCESS <br /> A. The flow control pumping system shall be adequately protected from traffic and <br /> shall be located to minimize disruption to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. - <br /> B. All flow control piping on private property shall not interfere with parking, access, <br /> or movement of supplies and materials. — <br /> C. It is the Contractor's responsibility to contact, coordinate, and acquire written <br /> permission from the private property owner for use of private property for location <br /> of flow control piping. <br /> 3.04 SEWAGE FLOW CONTROL AND DIVERSION _ <br /> A. The Contractor shall set up and test the sewage flow bypassing system for a <br /> minimum period of 4 hours (from 8 o'clock am to 12 o'clock pm on weekdays) or <br /> as directed by the Engineer, not more than 24-hours prior to removing the sewer _ <br /> from service for the start of the work. The Contractor shall correct any <br /> deficiencies in the system as required to provide a leak-free bypassing that will <br /> not cause overflows, back-ups or spills as specified. _ <br /> B. The Contractor shall provide continuous sewage flow control pumping and/or <br /> diversion of sewage for acceptable completion of the sewer main line operations. _ <br /> C. Dumping or free flow of sewerage on private property, gutters, streets, into storm <br /> sewer, creeks or flood control channels is prohibited. No bypassing to ground <br /> surface, receiving waters, or which results in groundwater contamination or — <br /> potential health hazards. <br /> D. The Contractor shall be liable for all clean up damages, and resultant fines in the <br /> event of a spill. <br /> E. After the work is completed, all temporary connections and piping installed by _ <br /> Contractor shall be removed and all affected improvements shall be restored to <br /> original condition, or better, and flow shall be restored to normal. <br /> Division III-47 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> July 2007 CIP Nos. 7468, 7589, 7590 <br />
