B. Protection of Existing Facilities <br /> Site preparation shall not damage structures or other improvements adjacent to the areas <br /> designated for site preparation. The Contractor shall repair or replace any damaged property. <br /> 1.03 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> No measurement will be made. Full compensation for conforming to these requirements, <br /> including all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals and for doing all the work <br /> involved in this section necessary for completion of the work, as shown on the Contract Plans, <br /> as specified in the Standard Specifications, these special provisions and as directed by the <br /> Engineer, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of <br /> work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> PART 2 — PRODUCTS (NOT USED) <br /> PART 3 — EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 CLEARING AND GRUBBING <br /> A. General <br /> All areas comprising the work shall be cleared and grubbed and stripped in accordance with the <br /> requirements of this section. <br /> B. Clearing and Grubbing <br /> Clearing shall consist of the removal of all vegetation, and all other objectionable material <br /> including debris and loose rocks occurring within the areas to be cleared. Remove all vegetation <br /> by scrapping to bare ground. Within the limits of clearing, the areas below the natural ground <br /> surface shall be grubbed to a depth necessary to remove all stumps, roots, buried logs and all <br /> other objectionable material of any kind. <br /> C. Topsoil Stripping <br /> All construction areas in unimproved areas shall be stripped of the top layer of soil to a depth of at <br /> least 12" in accordance with Section 02200. <br /> 3.02 CLEANUP <br /> Debris, rubbish, vegetation, and excess material resulting from the clearing, grubbing, and <br /> stripping process shall be removed from the site in a manner that will prevent spillage on streets <br /> or adjacent areas. Spillage shall be removed from streets and adjacent areas. Federal, State, <br /> and local hauling disposal regulations shall be complied with. Cleanup shall be an on-going <br /> activity throughout the contract period. <br /> 3.03 DISPOSAL OF MATERIALS <br /> All vegetation, boulders, debris, rubbish, and excess material removed during clearing and <br /> grubbing work shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be removed from the <br /> project site at the Contractor's cost. Contractor shall make his own arrangements for disposing <br /> July 2007 Division III-54 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> CIP Nos. 7468, 7589, 7590 <br />
