Arrangements <br /> shall include, but not be limited to, entering into agreements with property owners and obtaining <br /> necessary permits, licenses, and environmental clearances. <br /> SECTION 02200 — EARTHWORK <br /> PART 1 — GENERAL <br /> 1.01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br /> This section specifies work involved in trench and structure excavation, providing adequate <br /> sheeting, shoring, bracing, and dewatering, all conforming to applicable safety regulations, for <br /> the installation of structures and new water pipes and sewers and related items of work as <br /> required on the plans, described in these Special Provisions, and directed by the Engineer. <br /> Trench excavation shall conform to the provisions of the contract drawings, City Standard Plan _ <br /> No. 501, Section 306 of the City Standard Specifications. <br /> 1.02 GEOTECHNICAL REPORT <br /> Reference is given to the following geotechnical document; see Attachment C. <br /> Geotechnical Engineering Report— NEI Phase 11 Water & Sewer. Prepared by Wallace Kuhl & — <br /> Associates, Inc., dated December 18, 2006. <br /> In case of conflict between the requirements of this section and the criteria presented in the above _ <br /> document, the requirements of this section shall prevail. <br /> The City does not warrant and specifically disclaims responsibility for the interpretation by _ <br /> Contractor of such geotechnical information. The Contractor shall make its own interpretations, <br /> deductions, and conclusions as to the nature of the materials to be excavated, the difficulties of <br /> making and maintaining the required excavations, and the difficulties of doing other work affected _ <br /> by geotechnical conditions, and accept full responsibility therefor. <br /> 1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE _ <br /> The Engineer or their representative will take samples and perform moisture content, gradation, <br /> compaction, and density tests during placement of backfill materials to check compliance with <br /> these specifications. The Contractor shall remove surface material at locations designated by <br /> the Engineer and provide such assistance as necessary for sampling and testing.
